A quality wide-angle lens and solid tripod truly make all the difference, especially for those crisp interior shots. And yes, getting the vertical lines straight is one of the simplest but most important composition tips people often overlook.

If you're building your real estate photography workflow, it’s also worth choosing a reliable editing partner to enhance those shots professionally. I’d recommend checking this out: https://phephotos.com/#why-choose-us

However, one new advanced technique I’d add is called “flambient” photography.

A flambient shot combines multiple exposures – one using flash to capture perfect lighting and color balance, and another exposed for the ambient window light. When blended together skillfully, you get stunningly realistic interior photos with gorgeous natural light and evenly lit rooms.

It’s a more involved process than basic interior HDR, but the results are well worth the effort. You can see examples of my flambient real estate photography on my website at estatemotion.com

Flambient imagery jumps off the screen and helps homes look brilliant online and in marketing materials. It’s a great method for any real estate photographers looking to seriously elevate their interior shots and stay ahead of the competition.

there are also nice guides on youtube about this topic. Search for Nathan Cool Photo – he is having a nice guides about flambient photography.

I have a friemd that has been looking for a house to buy, and always complains to me about how unrealistic the photos are of the all the houses. To that she has wasted lots of time driving out to such fantasy houses – wasting time and money doing so. But I guess it’s like normal advertising, more fantasy than anything else. She described one photo of a house that did not seem to have any houses near it, but when she got there, a house next door was very close as most are. I always tell her about the magic of wide angle lenses. .

As a real estate photographer I have a few comments I’d like to share.
I have a TS lens and very seldom fine myself using it. Most problems with the verticals can be correct using light room or Photoshop.

I always shoot on a tripod and use a tablet with a tethering app this allows me to back the tripod up into a corner of a room as far as possible and see a very large image on my tablet for composition. I’ve been using qDSlSR dashboard for years. It’s is cheap app and works with most cameras with wifi.

Every photographer has their own techniques that works best for them. I shoot multiple exposers and bland the images. For all the years I’ve been do this I have always edited all the images myself providing the best quality I can. I’ve seen my competitors that switch to outside editing companies loose business and have their clients come to me with complaints of image quality decline.

Your summary is spot on.

One side note. The way the real estate market is now in 2021 with the shortage of real estate inventory, a realtor could sell a home in a day or two if they sketch the home with crayons….
