Articles like this really help spark new inspiration. I recently came across some unique lifestyle and portrait work that might interest others here too: https://www.gabrieleswiftphotography.com/

I'd also recommend just taking your camera with you whenever possible, because you never know when the opportunity to photograph something interesting presents itself. You can make a whole video scrapbook of pictures taken during long walks ( here is how you make one if you need it!). Rewatching it years later would certainly bring up some memories and also remind you how much the place around you had changed.

I like portrait photography ideas as well, especially the one with 3+ generations. If you have cute photos in your family archive, like the funny ones of you and your siblings or your parents' photos, you can take same pictures with same poses and similar clothes. You can even make the old pictures look new (there is a great guide on that) and make collages of older photos and the recent ones.

I've learned a lot about photography. and it has definitely helped me to use my imagination to take different pictures. This week our assignment is a scavenger hunt of sorts. We are to take 20 different pictures. For example, one is symmetry and the next is using the same object in the symmetry photo and put it on a thirds line with something else. Also, white on white photo and black and black photo, texture, etc… It's a lot of fun!

This is a picture I took recently downtown for hard light.

I work at a volunteer run museum and we run full scale trains. The following words of advice and safety are based on some of the silliest things we see during our operations.
– NEVER EVER take photos of models on the tracks or stand in the tracks to take photos standing on the tracks. Use common sense. It’s dangerous and illegal.
– Ask permission. Be on time. Stay out the way of the crew while they are working: shoot it like a sporting eventThese are working trains.
– Along with ask permission remember train tracks, and the land 20-25 ft in either side are property of the railroad. Simply showing up is a good way to get arrested, or worse, injured. – Ask if you can follow the brakeman or conductor around as he’s prepping for a run.
– ticket offices see a lot of action as well. While families showing up for a train ride. The kids are excited.
If you’re lucky you can find a place running steam engines. We have a narrow gauge steam operation that compliments are full-size trains. With steam you get several options:
– early morning when the hostlers are at work (they prep for the engine for the days run.
– Timelapse of the stationary engine with the steam swirling around.
– the locomotive in motion.
– Passengers boarding.
– Children and Parents or Grandparents (always sweet images).

Finally, offer to share some of your images. Smaller operations like ours are always in need of good images. Unfortunately, those of us who enjoy taking photos are often busy to do so during the day.

That’s strange. I do see it in your screenshot, but not on the images in the article.
