This is what I'm trying to achieve as well, as least with my editing style. By the way, here is a great article on image color transfer and this is probably what most photographers use to get to their particular color palette and general style.

I couldn’t get the tall plant to be still long enough to get sharp focus so I decided to just go with it and use a longer shutter speed.
